About Interpretation of Traditions
We Barbadians say that our culture is a mixture of several cultures interpreted in our own way. It was on this popular premise that the album Interpretation of Traditions was conceptualized.
2012 marks a decade since his debut album “First Born” was released. Therefore the album “Interpretation of Traditions” reflects in James’ words, “…10 years of rhythmic and cultural experiences…A fusion of musical pop influences and Barbados’ rhythms & dialect.”
James uses his musical skills as a drummer, percussionist and Dj to produce a musical blend of Barbados and the rest of the world. Definitely a wicked drummer’s album…but with a certain sweetness that creates an irresistible urge to bounce and say “yeah B!”, no matter where you’re from.
